Dr. Akhil Singhal grew up in India and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital. During his five years of practice as a hospitalist, he developed a fascination with the complexities of nephrology, particularly the diagnostic power of the urinalysis and the management of electrolyte and water-balance disorders. As he begins his fellowship at UPMC, he is eager to focus his clinical and research efforts on glomerular diseases and transplant medicine. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
