Ashwatha “Ash” Thenappan, MD

Dr. Ashwatha “Ash” Thenappan grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and completed her undergraduate studies at University of Kentucky. She spent a year in China teaching young school children prior to completing her MD at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She then completed her internal medicine residency at The University of Michigan and continued working there for a year as a hospitalist. Her prior research focused on large data analysis in ILD and predicting clinical outcomes in the ICU. Her academic interests include POCUS and global health. In her spare time, she loves hiking, playing tennis, cooking, and is (painfully) learning how to snowboard.
