Academic Interests

My research is focused on understanding the mechanisms of systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease (SSc-ILD) and pulmonary hypertension (SSc-PH). I utilize single cell RNA sequencing, ATAC sequencing as well various molecular & cell biology techniques to identify the genes/molecular pathways underlying the disease. My current projects are focused on investigating the role of fibroblasts and endothelial cells in the process of SSc-associated pulmonary fibrosis and vascular remodeling, respectively. By carrying out these studies, I hope to identify the key molecular pathways to help discover novel and definitive therapeutic targets.
