Garima was born and raised in Mumbai, India where she finished medical school and Internal Medicine residency. She moved to the U.S. and once again went on to pursue IM residency. While completing her residency she developed a keen interest in rheumatology during her clinical rotations in rheum-derm clinics and specialty care in pregnancy clinics. She continued to be intrigued by the management of patients with autoimmune diseases that inspired her to apply for fellowship.
She is excited to train at UPMC and work with the experts in the field of rheumatology. Her interests include lupus, vasculitis, and POCUS.
Outside of work, she loves to cook, explore places, dance, and spend time with friends and family.
