Academic Interests
Dr. Rondon’s clinical, teaching and research interests center on fluid, electrolyte, and acid–base disorders, with a particular focus on hyponatremia. He has published extensively and has presented his work at national and international conferences. He is a former recipient of an NIH R21 grant investigating the effects of oral urea on outcomes in chronic, non-severe hyponatremia. His current research focuses on the efficacy and safety of desmopressin to prevent rapid correction of chronic hyponatremia, as well as the neurological outcomes and management of profound hyponatremia.
