James E. Verdone, MD, MS

Dr. James Verdone obtained his B.S. in biomedical engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He attended Drexel University School of Medicine for his M.S. and M.D. followed by training in internal medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center. His prior research focused on assay design, molecular phenotyping, and characterization of circulating tumor cells. More recently, his research has pivoted to tobacco dependence treatment and healthcare disparities. His academic interests include biomarker discovery and translational research techniques as applied to pulmonary medicine and critical care. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, spending time with his wife and son, and checking out new restaurants.
