Dr. Kristina Collins earned a Bachelor of Medical Sciences and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery medical degree from the University of the West Indies, Mona, in Jamaica. She later completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) along with the Medical Education Track and Health Systems Pathway. As one of the first IM Pulmonary and Critical Care Subspecialty House Officers at UTSW, she developed initiatives to support the professional development of residents in their career pursuits in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Dr. Collins was also among the first resident leaders in the IM Health Systems Pathway and played a pivotal role in developing and implementing the track. Her academic interests include medical education, health systems science, and the intersection of pulmonary disease and critical care medicine. She is passionate about empowering clinical learners, enhancing patient care, and improving healthcare delivery. Outside of medicine, she enjoys playing racket sports, karaoke nights, quality time with family and friends, and exploring the vibrant cultures around her.
