Academic Interests

Dr. Countouris' research interests are in the field of cardio-obstetrics. She studies hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and mechanisms for development of later life cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Countouris is a general cardiologist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) with a clinical focus in women’s cardiovascular disease and cardio-obstetrics. She is co-director of the Bridges Postpartum Hypertension Clinic at the Magee Womens Heart Center.
