Dr. Hensley's research interests are broadly focused on trying to understand the mechanisms of pulmonary complications post-HCT through microbial sequencing techniques and host response phenotyping. He has additional interest in outcomes of CAR-T and immunotherapy-related critical illness. He also has interests in both acute and late complications of HCT including infectious and non-infectious complications such as pulmonary graft-versus-host disease.
Dr. Hensley's clinical interest is in the care of patients with complications of cancer treatment. Specifically, he focuses on the care of patients undergoing hematopoietic cell transplant, cellular therapies, and immunotherapy.
Dr. Hensley educates and trains providers on the management of pulmonary and critical illness complications post hematopoietic cell tranplant, CAR-T, and immunotherapy.
