Dr. Mehul Gilani obtained his BS in Engineering Physics from the University of Illinois in Urbana Champagne. He completed his MD from Chicago Medical School after which he completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Illinois in Chicago. His research interested lie in bedside ultrasound and the implementation of machine learning algorithms to improve clinical decision making. During residency he founded and lead a point of care ultrasound (POCUS) committee which introduced a POCUS curriculum and longitudinal elective to the program. Outside of work he is an avid rock climber and enjoys cooking, traveling, and tinkering with his espresso machine.
