Dr. Michelle Keyser grew up in the Bay Area in Northern California and completed her undergraduate degree in anthropology and integrative biology at the University of California, Berkeley. She then attended medical school at the University of California, San Diego, where she discovered her passion for caring for both children and adults and decided to pursue residency in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics. Throughout residency, nephrology remained a foundational interest, and she decided to pursue a fellowship in adult and pediatric nephrology to care for patients with kidney disease across the age spectrum. Within nephrology, she is interested in transitions between pediatric and adult care, transplant medicine, medical education, and health equity. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys playing tennis, yoga, biking, running, and spending time outdoors.
