Academic Interests

Dr. Soman’s research focuses on Cardiac Amyloidosis, and the use of radionuclide-based imaging techniques in cardiac diseases, particularly heart failure.

Dr. Soman practices clinical cardiology, nuclear cardiology, and echocardiography at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, with areas of Clinical focus in Cardiac Amyloidosis, and the noninvasive diagnosis and risk stratification of heart disease. He is the founder-director of the cardiac amyloidosis center which has robust clinical and research operations. He is also the director of Nuclear Cardiology. Under his direction, the nuclear cardiology laboratory performs high-volume, state-of-the-art imaging, and is a national leader in clinical research.
He has been selected “Best Doctors of Pittsburgh” every year from 2013 to date.
