Radu Mitran, MD

Dr. Radu Mitran was born in Bucharest, Romania and moved to the United States at age four, growing up in Seattle, WA and Chapel Hill, NC. He studied biochemistry at the University of North Carolina and obtained his MD at Virginia Commonwealth University. He completed his internal medicine residency at UPMC in the global health track, spending four months in Malawi working at Kamuzu Central Hospital. His research and clinical interests include global health, POCUS, and critical care access in low-resource settings. Outside of work, he is a die-hard Tar Heels and Seahawks fan and enjoys playing basketball, tennis, and disc golf.
