Dr. DeSilva's interest is in investigating ways to optimize quality and safety outcomes in both our out-patient and hospitalized chronic kidney disease and end stage renal disease dialysis dependent patients at this institution via quality improvement initiatives. Initial focused interest in optimizing the transition of care of the hospitalized ESRD dialysis patient to the out-patient setting with aim to reduce re-admissions. Additional research interest in population based investigation of hemodialysis vascular outcomes and strategy in the geriatric population using more national registry/database tools.
