Academic Interests
Dr. Smith served as the Director of Medical Affairs for the NABP. Dr. Smith is a former chairman of the Central Investigational Review Board for Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program of the National Cancer Institute and has played a key role in revising its role in the conduct of Cooperative Group Program trials. He serves as chairman of the Pulmonary Embolus Response Team Consortium. His interests are thrombosis, Pulmonary Embolus, porphyria and rare hematological disorders.
