Dr. Padival's research interests include the management of endocarditis in people who inject drugs (PWID) and transition of care from inpatient to outpatient services.
Dr. Padival has prior experience with managing HIV infection, viral hepatitis, and outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy (OPAT). She joined UPMC in 2021 and has an interest in the management of severe, injection-related infections with a focus on a multidisciplinary approach to treating endocarditis and cardiac device infections in people who inject drugs.
Dr. Padival works with medical students, residents, and fellows on the clinical service and is involved in didactic lectures.
