Dr. Mahmood studies advancements in advanced endoscopy, especially related to advancing technology and social media. He is the creator and founder of the Tube Feed Smartphone app.
Dr. Mahmood cares for patients in need of advanced endoscopy procedures. His clinical interests include third space endoscopy (including POEM, G-POEM, and ESD), Endoscopic Ultrasound, ERCP, large polyp EMR, and endoscopic stricture management.
Dr. Mahmood trains GI fellows and residents and supports educational advancements within the greater gastroenterology community, especially related to new technology. He is the creator of @GIJournal, a weekly online GI Journal Club on Twitter/X. @GIJournal discusses the latest publications in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology.
