Since 2007, Dr. Bui has served as director of the Global Health and Underserved Populations Track of UPMC's Internal Medicine Residency. Her educational interests focus on social medicine and incorporating social risks into clinical decision-making, and she has mentored several students and residents on projects related to social determinants of health, quality improvement, and global health education. Dr. Bui's clinical focus is on caring for patients with social and medical complexities. She has been volunteering at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Malawi since 1995. Her research focuses on the evaluation of peer support programs, medical education in LMICs, global healthcare workforce, and the application of the structural competency framework.
