Academic Interests

Dr. Bober is a primary care physician researcher focusing on screening for digital health literacy, educating patients to use digital healthcare, and leveraging technology to personalize inter-visit - especially in the area of obesity medicine and weight management. He applies novel multidisciplinary methods such as implementation science, qualitative research techniques, community-based participatory research, and human-centered design to create new ways to support patients to use digital therapeutics. He aims to think about ways that our health systems and communities might better support patients in their eHealth experiences and develop newer and better screening metrics for digital health literacy.

Dr. Bober is a practicing general internist - including rounding on the teaching services at UPMC Montefiore, as well as providing an urgent care clinic at the Solano & Kokales practice in Oakland. He is committed to making a positive contribution to the education and health professions trainees at all levels, including medical students and residents. To this end, he attends on the inpatient teaching services at UPMC Montefiore and participates in the Student Teaching Attending rotation for Third Year Medical Students.
