Dr. Wes Brown received his B.S in Bioresource Research and B.A in International Studies at Oregon State University. He came to Pittsburgh for the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Pittsburgh, completing a PhD in Molecular Biophysics and Structural Biology with research focused on developing genetic tools to study congenital heart disease in zebrafish embryos under the mentorship of Dr. Alex Deiters and Dr. Michael Tsang. He received his MD in 2024 and began his IM residency in the ABIM research pathway at UPMC, with an interest in interstitial lung disease. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and toddler, exploring small towns around Pittsburgh, hiking, travel, weightlifting, and videogames
